28 oz. of R134a is the correct amount according to the FSM and the underhood sticker (which is usually unreadable because it's rubbed off). Overcharging and too much oil can result in poor cooling and other problems. You might want to check your pressures when it's over 90* out. There is relief valve on the compressor which will blow off excess R134a and oil.
