    Fuel system - Bottleneck fix

Ok, where to start? Well as some of you may know on the other forum there is a write up in regards to the bottleneck fix in the fuel system. What is this bottleneck I am making reference to though?

The bottleneck is a smaller diamter passage right at the exit of the fuel pump before it reaches the stock fuel pressure regulator. By removing the small 1/8th piece of plastic and using larger fuel injection hose, you are creating steady positive flow to your fuel system. Some of you may not fully understand the effects of this and why this mod is necessary for anyone running a RRFPR. Imagine that the optimal fuel flow is you driving down the open highway and the bottleneck is traffic. Now alot of you big turbo guys that run larger injectors with the FRP tend to get that lean stumble at 2800 rpms and thats the bottleneck. Its like starting from a slow 5mph roll, getting to 60mph, then hitting traffic for a quick instant (back to 5pmh), then going right back to 60 mph. Everything goes whacky because the PCM cant compensate fast enough. Below you will find some budget friendly items needed for the mod, and some additional items incase you want to run NEW fuel line up to either the rail or FPR.

    Part#, Description, Price, Quantity

    EAR-983206ERL Fitting, Straight, Bulkhead Union, -6 AN, $3.95, 1
AER-FBM1512 Fitting, Hose End, Straight, -6 AN Hose Barb to Female -6 AN, $4.95, 3
AER-FBM1532 Fitting, Hose End, 90 Degree, -6 AN Hose Barb to Female -6 AN, $13.95, 1
    EAR-178009ERL Washers, Stat-O-Seal, 9/16 in. I.D., Fit -6 AN, Aluminum with O-Ring, Pair $6.39, 1
    EAR-230206ERL Fuel Filter, Inline Mount, Blue, 85 Micron, -6 AN Male Inlet/Outlet, $32.39, 1
EAR-592406ERL Fitting, Bulkhead Nut, -6 AN, Aluminum, Pair $2.95, 1

Go buy some zip ties, your desired amount 5/16 hose & clamps and you should be all set for the parts.

NOW..... If you have a AGP return line and want to replace the fuel line leading to the regulator, then follow this list.

EAR-985006ERL Fitting, Straight, Male -6 AN to Straight Cut Male -6 AN O-Ring, Aluminum, $7.88, 1

As well, go buy some zip ties and some 5/16 hose clamps.

If you wanted to run this line to the fuel rail from the pump, then to the FRP, you just need to make sure that you buy some long fuel lines just in case :)

Pictures will come to follow with the install, but I figured I would give a list. BTW, these are al pushlock fittings, so you dont need to to buy and cut braided steel lines. Plus rubber hose has more flex and can take better damanage as its it more flexable.

    Stay tuned!

Russel would without a doubt be the way to go, but they are far to expensive for the budgeted buyer. These should get the job done. Russell is for show and for pro.
