    Fluid Specs

    As quoted by: Never2muchboost

    SPECIFICATIONS - FLUID CAPACITIES
    DESCRIPTION SPECIFICATION
    Fuel Tank 47.5 L (12.5 gal.)
    Engine Oil* - 2.4 L 4.8 L (5.0 qts.) mobil 1 synthetic
    Cooling System** 6.2 L (6.5 qts.)
Automatic Transaxle - Estimated Service Fill 3.8 L (4.0 qts.)

    Manual Transaxle - NV T350 2.4-2.7 L (2.5-2.8 qts.)
    Manual Transaxle - NV T850*** 2.3-2.5L (2.4-2.6 qts.)
    *(includes new filter)
    **(includes heater and recovery/reserve bottle)
    ***(includes 0.12 L (4 oz.) of Mopar® Limited Slip Additive (P/N 04318060AB))
Mopar® ATF+4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid) is required in T850 manual transaxle. Neon SRT-4 Models equipped with the T850 manual transaxle also require the addition of 0.12L (4 oz.) of Mopar® Limited Slip Additive (P/N 04318060AB).
Mopar® ATF+4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid) when new is red in color. The ATF is dyed red so it can be identified from other fluids used in the vehicle such as engine oil or antifreeze. The red color is not permanent and is not an indicator of fluid condition. As the vehicle is driven, the ATF will begin to look darker in color and may eventually become brown. This is normal. A dark brown/black fluid accompanied with a burnt odor and/or deterioration in shift quality may indicate fluid deterioration or transmission component failure.

I NEED TRANNY FLUID HELP !!!!!

i lost alotta tranny fluid when i changed my axles, and now my LSD is pinging and im getting alotta sounds that arent good, as we know, from low fluid... sooo... what i need is more fluid, what fluid should i use for my tranny (04 equipped with LSD) im not about to wait till tomorrow when the dodge dealer is open, so from a place like pep boys or auto barn, which tranny fluid should i pick up ??? and what would the process be for putting in the friction modifier... BTW this is just a quik fix till i can make my way to a rotary lift, and change it completely with mopar ATF-4 with friction modifier... so just to TOP OFF MY TRANNY FLUID, WHATS THE STUFF I NEED ???

all you need is mopar atf+4

this goes to anyone changing their trans fluid..you do not need the friction modifier.the trans will operate better without it and it breaks down the viscosity of the trans oil

wait it out and get ATF +4 , better off waiting than putting in some cheap mumbo jumbo shit that'll cause more problems in the long run and wind up costing you 1200 bucks instead of the 30-40 you woulda paid for the Mopar fluids.

i know theres a write up, if u have access to a lift or sum jackstands, u should be able to do it urself, dealer work is so overated, even though its waranteed, its still overated for small enough stuff like this

Since we are on the subject, how often should the tranny fluid be changed? My service tech (dealership) says 30,000 miles for the SRT-4. Do you guy agree?

normally 18k miles would call for a change.however with the friction modifier added into the trans it will break the fluid down well before the 18k.me personally i change it every 12k...its easy enough to do and do not add the friction modifier back in.why they put it in there to begin with is beyond me

there is a drain plug on the bottom...its shaped like an allen head.the fill is the rubber plug that is located on the front of the trans.fill it until the fluid flows out of the fill hole.it will take slightly over three quarts of atf+4
