    Common Problems Thread

ok guys i think that we need this thread, ive seen alot of guys have simple problems and they try to fix them and cause even more problems.I will post a few up and by all means follow my lead and give your input.

I HEAR A DING WHEN I TAKE OFF AND MY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. This may be one of the most common issues and majority of the time it is due to low brake fluid.By simply adding fluid to the reservoir you will have fixed the problem.there is a level sensor inside the master cylinder that at a certain level it will cause the light to come on.When the fluid level gets just above that point and you accelerate the fluid swishes to the back of the master cylinder, the float rises and the light comes on.

HOW DO I CHECK MY CAR FOR TROUBLES CODES?
A very unique function found in the srt along with most other chrysler vehicles is on board code scanning.if your check engine light is on do the following.Put the key in the ignition and turn to the run position and then back to the off position repeating to a total of 3 times with the last time leaving the key in the run position.if there are no trouble codes present then the odometer will display DONE.if there are trouble codes it will display them on the odometer.write down the codes that you have and then cross reference them here http://www.srt-4mation.com/showthread.php?t=9

    P0633 WHAT IS THIS CODE?
This code is set when you install a mopar staged upgrade pcm.when you buy them from mopar they will flash your vin number onto the module. The reason for the p0633 is there is another module in your car called the SKIM module "sentry key immobilizer module"that needs to be in sync with the pcm.having this code will not cause any driveability issues, nor will it cause you to fail an inspection. You can have this code removed by taking your car to N2MB racing and they will flash it for you for a reasonable fee.

    WHY DOES MY TURBO FLUTTER?
If i had a dollar for every time i heard this question i would be posting on ferrari forums..This "flutter" otherwise known as compressor surge is a common occurrence.what is happening is as you come out of a vacuum and begin to boost there is constant pressure in your pipes.the second that you take your foot off the pedal the throttle plate will close and cause the pressure in the pipe to to try and reverse its flow and force response due to wakes and shock impingement.compressor surge is difficult to get rid of completely but can be reduced to a minimum by the addition of a blow off valve. If you experience excessive surge with a bov then it is more than likely that your bov is adjusted too tight.Surge is not good for the turbo because it is actually trying to reverse the direction of the turbo and wearing out the shaft and bearings that the compressor wheel and turbine are mounted to.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY BLOW OFF VALVE?
Most bov's have adjustment screws with an exception of a few .To adjust it you will need to loosen the locknut on the adjustment screw.Back the adjustment screw a few turns so that you can freely turn the adjuster screw.to tighten it screw it in clockwise and to loosen turn counterclockwise.Dont forget to tighten the locknut.

HOW DO I INSTALL MY WASTEGATE ACTUATOR(WGA)
I have heard tons of theories on this and everyone has their own concept on where to aquire their source of pressure on this but it is relatively simple. With an adjustable wga you can either lengthen or shorten the rod to the wastegate itself.lengthening the rod will reduce boost and shortening will increase it.If you are running a boost controller than i would advise adjusting your baseline boost to 12-13 psi BEFORE installing the bc.The way it worksis when the wga reaches a certain pressure(wherever you have it set) the rod will begin to extend and open the internal wastgegate. What happens now is air boost will be diverted around the turbo and into the exhuast.

Should the BOV make a hiss or a rattlesnake sound (I'm using a Forge BOV)??? I bought a mopar stg.2 WGA and installed it. Was there some special way that I should have done it? Turbo seems to boost good and fast... Next question. What do I put onto that car to keep the tires on the road. Damn thing will break traction in 3 gears under normal operation. and definatly 3 under WOT shifts. Getting a good start has been a bit of a challenge. I have adjusted the struts from 5-1, 2 being best. Makes driving in the snow a bit of a challenge aswell.

Im kinda curious myself. Does the Forge have an adjustment? I think mine might be alittle tight. Im unsure if the sound I here is surge or intake flutter that Ive heard is common with the stock airbox.

Has anyone had any problems with NGK FPR'S? I have been through two of them in the past month and a half. If anyone has had this problem and knows whats causing it it would be GREATLY appreciated.

What do you mean crap the bed? Please list some specifics. Actually please just start a new thread so as to not clutter up this one.
