Well I have had my 50 trim on for about a month now but i got a problem. My car detonates runs way to hott!!! I saw that agp sales a spark plug and wire set that cools it down alot, would that be enough to solve the problem for a whlile or will i also need a big ass intercooler. Also did anyone else have this problem? Thanks for the advice!

My supporting mods are agp fuel kit with 750cc injectors, jmb 3 inch intake and upper intercooler pipe with greddy type rs bov. I stil have on stock intercooler and stock spark plugs and wires, and also past like 11 psi it starts to detonate.Originally Posted by hozay09

Well, there's your first two problems...stock intercooler and stock plugs/wires...Invest in some MSD wires and NGK copper stock 4306 plugs. They've been doing a great job on my car w/ no problems. Others say to go w/ Denso Iridiums, which are great but costly. Next step is definitely upgrade that intercooler. That's really holding you down.
what about the ago spark plug set and how much did your spark plug and wire set cost? I wanted to get the cca intercooler cause the price and the size of it but i heard bad things about it heard its made shitty and thats why its so cheap
CCA is a good IC but for the same price you can get a quickwhips IC which is alittle better. The IC and the Exaust is pain problem why your car is going into detonation. Its not so much the sprak plugs and the wire, but it would be good to get what jose said that setup is awsome. I have the same setup, But reason your detonating is because the air is not being cooled down enough the stock IC can not cool all that air down. Get a 3inch exaust so your not choking the turbo so much.
oh yeah i forgot to mention that i have 3 inch mpx exhaust, downpipe, and housing no cats sorry lol :rimshot:
Than def look into getting a IC. Also what are your A/F on your tune.
low 11's when im on it full throttle which i believe is good and 14 just partial throttle.
if your at full throttle at 11's A/F than its most likely the IC thats holding you back. What type of gas are you using.
I would seriously wait before jumping on that xs power intercooler $300 shipped for a bar & plate intercooler just doesn't seem right..
are you sure its detonation and not spark blowout? if the a/f is in the 11's, the car should not detonate. My money would be on spark blowout. An IC has nothing to do with your issue if that is the case. Yes the stock IC is holding you back, but no it will not cause detonation or blowout if your car was tuned with it.
msd wires and ngk 4306's like hozay said or get denso iridium plugs and wires.
We use denso itv22's and have no issues whatsover... 8k miles and counting...

well im not mexican but i did here alot of good things about quickwhips and im not rich enough go out and buy top of the line shit so if it gets the job done thats all that matters
What 50 Trim Turbo Kit uses the stock 02 housing?
why would you want to use the stock o2 housing?
Reason I said the IC is holding him back is because a friend of mines was having the same problem that he is having. We did out in the Denso spark plugs gaped at .30 and still always during the day time it would detonate. brough the gap down to .28 still in day time detonate. Swap IC out and put a bigger one in problem solved. At night time when it was cool out he never had a problem the car ran perfect. his tune was also in the 11's as well. he was running the ATP turbo kit. I would swap the plugs and the IC out and see what happens.
I meant a stock or aftermarket one. He said something about having a 3" exhaust and housing, maybe he meant the one that came with the kit, whenever I read housing I think of a stock looking one.
