I had a few minutes the other day to start working on my banner, and I can't seem to find something that i really like. I like parts of one and parts of the other, and I cant find a decent font of the love of god. Criticism wanted... but dont make it too rough... this isnt my good work, i spent about 10 on both. Thanks

Less is more in this situation. Keep it sharp and clutter free... see what comes out of it then. Your goal is to have a good looking logo, but advertise the name(Make sure it stands out from the rest, focal point). Let your photo's do your talking for the background. PS - I love the dyno graph that you added into it, great idea.
this always helped me when I was in college for graphic design. Its always good for ideas and it'll teach you how to manipulate the tools to create what you want... basically so your not sitting there doing trial/error.
