head gasket..
check coolant, if you see bubbles or looks like chocolate milk -- time for a head gasket..
and don't drive it.
i have an 05 srt4
the other day i got in my car in the morning was on my way to work i got on the high way and my car started getting hotter than 200 getting close to 260 so i turned the car off but i was still coasting then i started it again and the temp went back down to 200 and sat there for the rest of the trip
this has been going on for a few days now i have no idea what the problem could be
i thought it might be the fans cuz i was messing with the car yesterday and i had it in my drive way it took a while but it got passed 200 again close to 250 260 so i turned it off and turned it back on and i heard the fan kick on the temp went down and the car sat at 200 and didnt go pass 210 any ideas what this could be?

why are you assuming it's a head gasket? why are you jumping to such a radical solution right off the bat.....Turbotim.....what's the mileage on your car? Is it misfiring? or running like crap when it overheats? is the check engine light on? next time it heats up, turn the heater on and see if the temp drops.....there's a theory i like to follow when working on cars.....K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid.....you might just have a sticking thermostat, start off there, see if it helps, also depending on the mileage, it might be time for a coolant change.....I HIGHLY DOUBT it's gonna be a head gasket unless you've been running a big turbo at like 27psi everyday for the last 2 years........just my :2cents
i like a lot of your posts, saul.
