    srt4mation Action Plan/List

To start this thread off correctly, it should be taken serious...and free of any bullshit. If you'd like to complain about certain people, or incidents...start a new thread and let your voice be heard. This isn't the thread to voice it in.

I don't know everyone on here, some know me...but that's beside the point.

What would you want to see fixed/improved/upgraded?
(Please be as specific as possible, as I'm not aware of most of what you guys are).

To give this thread a little more "light" I moved it into General Discussion. Apparently threads in off topic don't appear in active topics.

Now's the time to speak up guys!

i enjoy this site far more then srtforums. The people you have as moderators arent a bunch of jerkoffs like srtforums. I dont really have too many ideas because I do not really see anything wrong with the site but one thing that I'd like to see is more activity amongst eachothers region. I also thing that maybe you should allow emails like gmail through because im sure that has hindered alot of people from joining. I tried my gmail before a couple times and was denied each time, im assuming because it was a freebie gmail and you guys are trying to keep bad crap out. I had to use my work email to join. Anyways keep up the good work with this site. I am SRT4less at the moment but I will be buying another shortly. I probably sign up for VIP today. Take care.

I changed that yesterday, so every thread in every forum now shows up on the front portal page. :)

a problem that has been ongoing for quite some time now is the active topics list. I haven't been on this board since about 3-4pm yesterday and when I signed in just now, the active topics list said there weren't any updates. I had to click on the link to see all posts in the last 24 hours.

thats the only thing I can think of right now :D

You sure you got the right forum? :head_scra

    jk

On the serious side of things, I think for what this forum consists of and the people who run the day to day and the members who post, it does well, all things considered. And for all the BS that is the internet, this site seems to have some knee high boots on...most of the time. :thumb:

This is without a doubt the best forum I'm on. The traffic seemed to have died down a little though.
Some performance stickies would be nice too, because that's the only reason I go to the other forum.

The traffic has died down considerably.

Basically, this forum is kind of like Cheers. The usuals show up all the time and once and a while, someone new pops in for a bit theh leaves.

First, I would change the title of the forum to something more fitting to it's members and current interests. Gary and I talked about this when I was going to run the joint. Besides a few people, no one owns their SRT anymore. this may attract the "tuner" crowd instead of just the SRT crowd.

Make it fun and more informative. Maybe a change in the arcade, add the live chat feature, maybe bring back ride of the month, have meets again, stickers, t-shirts, etc.

Also, if VIP-4mation is reintroduced, really add value to it because most people will not want to spend the $$$ for e-mail and access to an arcade.

Other than that, good luck and enjoy. There's a lot of potential here if someone just dedicates the focus that it needs to make it successful.

I'm actually against changing the title of the forum, there are other alternatives to multi-branded car sites in the tri-state area (tri-state tuners, NJTuners etc.) I feel like Srt4mation has a niche, regardless of what car we all currently drive. Cause half of the people who don't even own them are the people who are most active and still offer just as much help and advice as actual owners (which is actually kind of sad if you think about it).

I wouldn't mind knowing who runs the show considering there have been significant changes in the past year or so.

How does that information help the site? We all know who the day to day admin are and the members who are helpful and responsive...:2cents:

Traffic helps the site right? There are reasons why a large majority of the most dedicated NY members no longer post, visit, or promote 4mation. Do you remember my weekly DPA meet threads? How about Memorial Day? What about the business cards we bought with VIP and handed out to promote the site? Or the NY chapter badge that used to be on our trunks.

Personally I've been around since early 2005 and I've noticed a considerable downfall in general attitude on these boards. I think we have a right to know who runs the show. Why is it a secret?

I'll keep coming back because there are still people who I'm friendly with that post here, and there is much to be learned from the threads. However because of the actions I've witnessed with my own eyes I can no longer call this forum home, nor will I promote it.

That's a very large grudge to be held over an internet site's head...I remember all of the aformentioned meets and promotions. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China. If you hold a personal vendetta against the "owner" of a website, then that's your business but it honestly has nothing to do with the members of this site or their interaction here. Are you telling me you'll get the whole NY crew to come back here because of the new owner?

People come here because there aren't shrewd prick admin who think they're god running this site. It's not the owner who makes or breaks a site, it's the people who post here daily and the admin who run it, who in all honesty, have a sense of humor and don't easily get butthurt over the stupid bs drama.

Al Gore owns this site, afterall, he did invent the internet.

There's no grudge. I don't speak for all of NY, I speak for myself. I think I put in enough time and effort to organize meets and make this site a better place overall. It's difficult to hold a personal vendetta against the owner considering I have no idea who that is. If I'm posting and promoting for a website I wouldn't mind knowing who is in control.

The fact that it remains a big secret just personally bugs me.

i think the sites alright ... i agree with some and say that it has died down in different ways over the past year or so. there still are alot of lil meets here and there which i think is great... cause it keeps the site going and people talking. on a down note... there are ALOT of people recently posting up useless stuff.. not using the search button etc... either you get flamed for not using the search button or people sometimes actually help you.. i think that should change.. temp. ban people for like a day or something that dont wana follow the rules. but for the most part people stick around here because its a cool site and alot of people are still friends. i swear there are more people on this site that DONT have srt's anymore than do lol

For me, I'm on this forum everyday. Like everyone else said, this forum is way better than srtforums. Even though I have no srt (yet), I sign in to this forum every day. I don't even go to my email that much..

As for changes, I see none...

As for things wrong, I've had the problem with the active topics page too.. but thats it!!

i think that we should bring back the badges and stickers and stuff though.... just a thought

i agree with tj nd jeff.. vip-4mation should have some more value than an arcade and email. shirts and badges might give people interest on going vip. i also agree that we should do ride of the month, there's not much vendors, so the gave-a-ways could be a shirt or something.. maybe free vip.
problems- i always had a problem logging on from a different computer, it would take me a couple times.. except today, got it first time

    LIVE CHAT

I agree with the live chat option. It would be a nice feature and benefit those in need and perhaps cut down on unwanted threads.

Some of us had previously had used a beta chat for this site and it was crazy...haha. Hard to keep up with conversations. Reason why most of us stick to the wtf threads.

Definitely having more vendor sponsorships and advertisements would help. Seem like "the forums" has a niche there. But then again, if this site wants to grow into something very viable, then earning respect and business trust from the vendors will be needed. Definitely attainable.

Keep the suggestions coming, most of which are already on the list for implementing prior to creating this thread.

    But please, continue.

Get all the grips out, or complaints and let's move on. Let's further give you what you want and what you're current lacking. However, I don't live in NJ, NY, or close enough that I'm really going to be able to "recruit" or "regenerate" morale until you (members) do it. There have been approximately 18k members (Yes, 18,000) members register on this board from day 1. That's stupid impressive. However, most of those have been deleted instead of moving them to another usergroup to cut down on spammers. That doesn't have anything to do with you (members) but it's still objectable data.
