I am no longer SRT-4 less

I drove down to QUANTICO from PA only to find out the jerk-off I was talking to about a car sold it w/o calling me. Needless to say I made a scene.
Driving home, I saw no less then 3 OB SRT-4's ranging from 9K to 13K. All of them abused, all of them half assed. I saw a black one that looked like it should just be taken out back and shot.
So word to the wise. If you sell your car 9/10 chance your car will be abused, neglected and driven into the mf'n ground.
Anyway, so driving home, lost as fk, I see this silver SRT. Yeah, it's an 03, but it was stock except for some tint and debadged.
No exhause, heat shields were there, all the vaccume lines were there. Only thing that worries me I posted pics of below. Looks like the TPS.
Anyway I got it for next to nothing for the condition and the miles. 70K, 7K out the door.

It's going to be my DD. These cars get gas mileage, they're in the 13's stock, 4 doors, big trunk. There isn't much else you could want.

BTW I want to get a later model trans. Where can I pick one up?

I got left over orange BWoody motor mounts I never used lol. It's got a head unit in it that needs to be replaced.

The trans like I said. I wanna go to a LSD trans. My 05 trans shifted much better.

I'd like to do stage 2 or something. But the 03's are more fragile right?

In my opinion if it really is going to be your daily I wouldn't touch it. I know it's hard not to mod but just leave it be.

i would change the tranny fluid, and go from there. that might be enough to make your shifts smoother, and possibly make you happy enough without spending an arm and a leg on a tranny.

only differences in the 03's and 04-05's is the LSD, the injectors, and the sunroof, and i think the headlights are a little bit different...

the 03's are more fragile? haha tell that to my old car. that thing took all the abuse i could throw at it and kept on going...much better than many 04/05's that were "better" than my poor little 03 lol

i'll be honest with you....the LSD doesn't really do shit. i ended up putting a 04 tranny in my car because i blew the 03 (blew the 04 too eventually). so i drove the car with an open diff and the lsd. it made virtually no difference. if the tranny is fine in the 03 i would suggest leaving it the way it is until you have a problem. then swap it for an 04, which should should be able to get at junkyards for fairly cheap (got mine from a place in pa, $600 with 3k on it).

Yeah the 05 had 37K. This tranny shifts a little harsher and the clutch engagement is a little different.

I was told it has 15hp less, the half shafts are different. The PCV system is inferior to the later models, and the tranny mount is inferior to later models.

Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing my own car, I'm just trying to lear (you know how stupid the SRT-4 community is). I would like to make the car as bulletproof as I can, cause I'm not getting rid of this one. These cars are getting impossible to find.
