post size of rim and offset
well im having some problems on some 17" wheels. I ordered a set of Sportmax XXR 503's, got them mounted and everything but they wouldnt clear my front brake calipers/brackets, and discount tire doesn't warrentee if you put wheel spacers on them. Then I looked at some R1 Racing Hypes which ive seen on an ACR edition and he didn't have to use spacers or anything. I called up R1 racing and they said it wouldn't clear and you would have to put 5mm spacers. My question is what is the difference between the ACR and my 2004? For the record I have Stage 2 coilovers, any help would be great. Thanks
Cody
is that what it actually says on the wheel or is that what you ordered?
I mean thats what i ordered, thats what came in. Like I said im doing this through discount tire company. They took my 17" Motegi Dp6's off of my Tires, put the Sportmaxes on them then decided to see if they would fit the front. They put them on and it was rubing against my brake caliper and bracket. It would be fine with wheel spacers but they wouldn't service them, rotate them ect. The guy even suggested me shave down my calipers and bracket which i said hell no to.. So im just wondering is there a way I could maybe adjust my coilovers so that they would clear or anything?
if your wheels are hitting your caliper there's nothing adjusting your CO's will do. I'd actually check the wheels to make sure that the correct ones where sent. You should be fine running a 40 mm offset wheel, unless your running an extreme lip or the spoke just really come in

Alright well I have the Motegi DP6's on there right now, the reasons im gettin rid of them because is a bad clear coat. So your saying that I need to get a rim with an offset of around 42-45mm. The motegi Dp6's have an offset of 45 and they fit fine...
sometimes the correct offset might not be enough to clear. occasionally a strange/unique spoke design might not clear the caliper--in just the right spot.
but a wheel with the correct offset for your car should work about 95% of the time. GL
ok well the R1 Racing Hype wheels look like the spoke design should clear, its got a 40mm offset, ive seen it on an ACR and fits fine... think it would fit?
yes you shouldn't have any issues getting the wheel to fit. The only difference for wheels fitting with the ACR is the overall heigth due to the perch height.
ok so there shouldn't be any difference fitting the wheels on my 2004 than the ACR. The brake calipers shouldn't be a difference should they? Because if thats the case ill order them... and hopefully they will fit
bump for an answer on the difference in ACR and regular models with wheel fitment...
as was already answered the difference between the two is spring perch height. if a rim will clear on an ACR it'll clear on a regular.
thanks, i guess r1 racing don't know what they're talking about. They said it wouldn't fit... thanks for the information and hopefully ill get them ordered and see if they clear...
did you bother to search the wheel thread on the other forums?
See if someone else has them already.
can't get on srtforums at my house, i type it in and it always brings up server can't be found. had no problems with it the first couple of years i used it and then suddenly it wont let me get on so i just started gettin on here a little bit...

Hey Hey
If you still having the prblom with your wheels hitting the calpers. We had the same prblom when we did the swap to SRT brakes. The how to said that I would need spacer for the rear but the rears fit without them so we install them on the front.(don't remember the size)and that work I can get you the size over the weekend.but that might be to long of a wait for you
