I just installed one on a car today... Won't open or close either. The motor works, but the plate doesn't move.

Quick time performance FTW!!! I had my QTP electric cutout for a year and a half and no leaks and its cheaper then the Mccord.I still don't know why everyone swears by the mccord when most leak and don't work?

Dam that sucks for all the horror stories about the Mccord. I have had mine for like 2 years with no issues. Guess I got a good one.

It sucks. I had the car on the lift the other day and it seems to be closiing all the way. Its leaking where the bar goes through the bracket. Im just going to live with it. its not that bad of a leak

As for them being dicks, they were very helpfull over the phone. Not a hassle at all. I would call them if your having major issue with the plate.

Its gonna leak man....There should be sealant on there when you get it, but eventually after opening and closing it wears away. Just reseal and you are good to go. Not a tight fit...

Sealant was there when I first received the plate. I was expecting it to leak, but not so soon. Oh well. Such is life. I can deal with it.

Other then the leak, the Plate is working great!.

Plate is closing all the way. It seems to be leaking from where the bar comes out of the housing...on both sides. The are soot marks on both sides of the plate near the bar.

i think the cold has something to do with it... i remember when i picked up my car with the dump installed the guy said, "dont open it in the winter, they leak and freeze in place open... or wont close all the way" ever since i dropped my exhaust i havent considered getting another dump since for that reason, theyre not reliable and fool proof... and when they leak, u hate them
