hey y'all i was wondering if you could give me some advice on which PCM is better for a DD but still easy to tune with. I am thinking of going with the Stage 1 but I like the Stage 2 because of the WOT shifting support. I might seem like a novice when it comes to all this and i am. I am not sure what is better when it comes to PCMs. Thanks for the help.

Are those your mods in your sig or future possibilities?

I can just see the Stage 1 Stage 2 war begining.

Why? If those are his mods in his sig there should be no war at all. That shouldn't even be a factor when going with a big turbo and those supporting mods. Want easier tuning? Go with the Stg 1. Want a higher rev limiter? Go with stg 2

If those are your mods listed then I would definately reccomend teaching yourself how too tune and go with stage 2.You'll get way better timing and performance tuned correctly with stage 2.Stage 1 has WOT support also correct fellas?

stg 2 actually offers a little too much timing. That's something to think about when using a SAFC to tune. It's not something I would recommend personally unless you really know what your doing. But that's me.

stg 1 does offer a WOT support.

Those are my mods. I wasn't aware that Stage 1 supported WOT. I'm not really heavy into tuning i don't know all that much to be honest when it comes to that. I just know how to keep the car on the edge of the limit. I am wanting to get the best numbers i can with those mods plus a wideband and i might do water injection, ported TB or a 70mm TB, and ported intake manifold.
As far as real tuning i plan on taking it to someone that really knows what they are doing and letting them dyno tune it. 1 file for daily driver (22 psi) and 1 file for the Track (25psi). If i remember correctly you can do that with a SAFC.

ok wait...Please tell me you have and are running a wideband now? If not, did you do the work yourself or was your car tuned at a shop with a dyno? With all that you already have a wideband should have been done a long time ago!

Your wrong on the SAFC. It only supports 1 map. If you want different maps, you'd have to switch to something superior such as the Dtec for example.

doesn't "WOT shifting support" refer to holding boost? does that even matter on a setup when the PCM isn't controlling boost?

with all the tranny problems popping up, who could even THINK about WOT shifting.. makes my input shaft quiver just reading it..

No i don't have a wideband. But right now the car isn't being driven. I am currently deployed overseas. I plan on getting the wideband installed the first day that i am there.
As far as the map thing, i didn't know that i thought it could support 2 maps. Thanks for letting me know.
So from what i have read i take it that i should get a stage 2 pcm and a wideband. Then get someone like N2MB to tune it for me.

Ah, deployed. My bad. Good that your not driving it now, could be a disaster. When you get back home feel free to hit us up with any questions or help. Stay safe!

Thanks man. I will definately do that. It's hard for me to get my car tuned by someone that knows what they are doing with an SRT since i live in north dakota. But i will definately be needing help with the tune.
