View Full Version : Only holding 13 lbs to redline ?
I recently installed An agp wastegate and an mbc. For some reason my car is only holding 12-13lbs to redline i have the Mbc to spike at 18. I made a boost leak testor and checked the car for boost leaks but couldent find any and ive been trying to adjust the wastegate and Mbc but cant seem to figure it out.I was wondering if it could be anything else ??
I have been adjusting the wga the most i could get it to hold is 13lbs
you have a boost leak then. check your IC pipes
IC pipes are on fine, and cant seem to locate any other boost leak. are there any common spots to look for other then the IC pipe's?

If you floor it before 3k you run out of fuel in the higher rpm's on stock pcm and injectors. Im assuming your stock with just the wga and mbc.

Checking for boost leaks can be a pain in the ass and time consuming, Id say just spring mod the AGP wastegate, FORCE it to make boost regardless of a boost leak

boost leak, there is a boost leak either at your charge pipe, your BOV is leaking. or check the WGA. check the setting on your MBC as well.
I dont think the bov is leaking i have that on there tight, the mbc i have turned off until i can find the boost leak, I have been going over the car but i need to check the back of the turbo. We boost leak tested the car the other day but could not find anything.
But Yeah as boostedneon said I have:
Stage one pcm
3" Turbo back
Injen sri
Agp wastegate
Mbc
Safc Untuned
Jmb hardpipe with ssqv
cca Fmic

when you boost leak the car your guage should reach about 20psi what did you car check to????????????????????? if anything less you have a leak and need to check the car in a quiet area and listen for leaks. just a question what wga are you running is it the new or old style agp. dont forget the old style the spring rate was only 14 pounds this is your problem.
Its the billet agp, and the boost guage never moved when we tested the system. Which is why i'm asking for common leaking spots because i couldent hear anything.

you officially have on big ass leak if the guage didnt move. but with a leak that size you should be able to hear it????

i wasnt planning on it, but as far as hearing the boost leak i couldent hear anything, i checked and double checked the ic pipes, but could not find anything. Thats why i was wondering about any common spots to check.
Could it be anything else beside a boost leak because i didnt hear anything?

Run a vacuum line straight from your compressor housing (green line nipple) to your wastegate. No boost controller or stock lines. Whatever you boost, that is what your wastegate is holding. If you can adjust it to hold 12-13psi, then you install your bc on top of that and bump it to 17-18psi...

so let me get this right you have a HUGE LEAK enough to where the guage doesnt even move but you dont hear any air escaping you sure the compressor your using is strong enough. remember boost checking needs pressure not volume so if ur air compressor is a 50 gal tank but only gives of 10 psi its not gonna do shit. what r u using for a tank.
I had the regulator turned up to 75 psi...
