This is a stupid question and should probably be moved, but can i take my car through the carwash? i'm skeptical because of the hood scoop and i dont want water going into the engine bay.

No stupid questions, only dumb answers...you can check on those yourself if you read the forums...:)
Yes, it is safe, relatively speaking. It will not harm your motor, but avoid car washes in general if you can do it yourself. In the winter months, carwashes are a necessary evil for most of us.

If you ever drove thru a puddle, then got water in your engine bay...people do wash their engines all the time...don't give it a thought....water in your cai is bad, water on your engine is nothing...Don't spray your engine directly at high pressure, also never steam clean your engine, moisture will get places that you don't want it....but a carwash, baaaah, the scoop goes over your engine, not directly to an ic or airbox, go ahead, wash it up!
I am scared to take my car through a carwash. I just don't trust them not to *F* up my rims and paint.
So I take it into my garage at work and wash it, but if you can't do that, and cant put up with the cold, you have no other choice. But look for a handwash carwash, not a mechanical one!
