I almost got one, but then firmly stated that it was stock .I was doin like 30 on dolsen ave,the pig even told me to rev it so i did- hahah off goes the blue rice plate too. In the end he gave me ticket for my window tint.

I've never gotten a ticket for it, but I have had 3 cops comment on it while I was pulled over for other things. None of them believed me that it came from the factory like that though. The best comment I heard was from this one dumb ass cop on DPA.

ME- "so whats the reason you pulled me over, officer?"
COP- " Um,....(looks around car for violations)...your exhaust"
ME- "Whats wrong with it? Thats how it comes from the factory!"
COP- "Oh yeah,.....well not with those two things you did to it (pointing at tailpipes)"

if i am not mistaken the service manual states that the car comes and i quote "unmuffled from the factory." or something to that effect. i know that if you bring that it might help. you could also have a dealership send you something about it. good luck man.

Chris take that ticket to court.. he wont show up, if he does make him look like a fool with all paper work showing the exhaust is 100% factory and the car is 100% emmissions legal, you are inspected etc..

Dont just roll over and pay it dude even tho its prolly only like 50 bucks right? Thats an extra 50 bucks towards xmas gifts.. I got stopped for my stock exhaust on the way home from AP once and the guy called me a liar to my face when i told him my exhaust was factory. I then told him I can have all paper work faxed over to his Department within 20 minutes and hes like "YEAH IM SURE YOU CAN" and just walked away..gave me a tinted windows ticket instead

i went to the dealer today, to get something printed out that will prove to them its stock.

All they gave me was a "VIP SUMMARY REPORT" of what comes with the car.....and it doesnt even have ANYTHING about the exhaust. lol

Actually you are all still wrong... while the exhaust passes emmisions, it isnt 50 state, every town/county noise friendly. I got pulled over fo having my stock exhuast being too loud and the cop told me that regardless if it comes that way, you can still be ticketed for having the exhuast be TOO LOUD. Most of you guys dont believe in upshifting to make the exhaust quieter, but you rather let the rpms slowly drop making the car sound loud (not pointing figners at anyone in particular, but i am pointing). If the cop didnt put the DB meter to the exhaust then you have a good chance of getting that dismissed since your exhaust is stock and they may be kind on you...

yeah there is a certain dB level that makes it illegal in each state. If the cop never measured it, and it is stock, like he said, you may in fact get off with no ticket

that makes no sense though. If the car's exhaust isn't 50 state legal, how come it's sold in 50 states (well, to be exact I'm not AWARE of any states that didn't sell the SRT-4).

some states require your exhaust to be quieter than xx decebels, making the srt-4 exhaust illegal in certain municipalities and states...although I've never been pulled over for my exhaust...*knock on wood*

yeah.. they've tried that with me a couple times already.. i always tell them it's stock and they don't believe me at first.. i tell them like three times, then give them my pba card with my license and i'm on my merry way..

yeah, unless your in a rush or racing.. low rpm's in upper gears say 3 rd while going 25 will keep the cops away..
