But what else is new right? Guess my terribly worn brakes couldnt hold out anymore.. I had to stop somewhat short at a Red light, but nothing crazy.. when all of a sudden.. SNAP!!!!!! brakes went out, i roll right thru the red light.. idk how there were no cars coming, but I almost wish there were...and just put me out of my misery :(
I pull off, check it.. front RIGHT brake is destroyed.. there was fluid everywhere.. the rotor is in chambles, idk i guess I was asking for it driving around on that shit for so long..
Guess its gonna cost a fortune to fix it.. *starts digging grave*

Glad you're ok.
The parts are not hard to find.
Warrenty? Nothing you did had any effect on the brake system, you should be fine!

HAHA, thanks bud, but refer to my sig! and the warranty has been voided for quite some time :(

Your warrantee should still be good for your brakes, you definitely couldn't get your motor warranteed but they have to prove that a modification made caused the part to brake. Give it a shot. Sorry to hear about your mishap glad you are ok.

Thank you, but my warranty is FULLY voided from the last owner..
any idea how much it would cost to replace a whole brake caliper and rotor (im assuming thats what broke and why theres fluid everywhere)

Ever hear of the Magnuson-Moss Warrenty Act(15 U.S.C.2302(C))? Check this out, it will help you, guarenteed:

If it was earlier I'd get the prices from the local stores I usually get parts from. Mechanic's cost on parts is a bit lower than retail.

If you can get cheap rotors for that one, they're usually 20-25 a piece. Set of pads around 25, caliper is probably 50-60 bucks.
Honestly read the Magnuson-Moss Warrenty Act. It proves beyond a doubt that your warrenty is not voided for your brakes. They cannot legally void the warrenty on an entire car. Certain dealerships may refuse the work, but the worst they can say is try another dealership. You have not modded your brake system in any way, and therefore your brakes are under warrenty.
It could save you a lot of dough because from the sounds of it you need calipers, rotors, brake lines, pads, EVERYTHING. i know from experience that it all adds up. Especially if you pay a shop to do it!
If you want to buy it all though...
Brake lines / Pads / Fluid - $230 (http://www.revitupmotorsports.net/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=147&zenid=ec126bf003914762264c5d9c5660e42b)
Rotors - $179/pair (http://www.revitupmotorsports.net/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=122)
This will be much better than stock too!

no offense but driving under those conditions for such a period of time would probably void them from having to fix it. like if your brakes are shit and you continue to ride em until they literally blow the hell up, they probably will consider that the reason why the brakes failed, due to owner neglegence. like i said im not trying to be a dick, i just agree with poor dred that the dealers probably not gonna help. thats not the end of the world though. grab some steel brake lines, a rotor and some pads and your back in business. its really not that big of a deal. now that you have no choice but to fix it id seriously consider having towed to a local shop or someone you trust dred. if you need anymore help with this PM me or hit me up on AIM. you got alot of resources on this site man, im sure we would all be glad to help you out :D

you have to understand the warranty will not cover wear and tear products such as wipers, brakes ETC. you would have to show the brake sysem failed. now you shit is in pieces which shows major stress, we all know the reason and im sure a dealership will to, you can go there and try to say the brakes were defective and never gave a warning sign but if they look at the pads i think your screwed.

Never skimp on brakes....that is the lesson learned today.
You're lucky it was a solo incident.
When you get that one sided caliper replaced, get new front rotors & pads and your set. Autozone products are cheap and effective.
Last but not least, BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM PROPERLY. GL!

First off glad your ok....
But dude, seriously, if you can't afford to keep brakes on a car you need to get rid it.
How many miles were you riding on a worn out brake pad?
Only the stupidest dealer would warranty this. Come on now a guy's car comes off a tow truck and you take the wheels off and the passenger side caliper piston either has wear marks or is missing completely.
I'd tell my service manager exactly what I thought some idiot didn't change their pads and were stopping on their caliper pistons.
The wore out brake pad got thrown out of the caliper because it got too thin to be held in and then the caliper piston started doing the job the pad that said "This is horse shit I quit!" was supposed to do.
I hope for your sake the calipers are on the aftermarket otherwise your fucked dude. Just the OEM pads cost 160 from dodge. I can't even imagine what a caliper from them would cost.
Make sure you other guys take a lesson from this too. There's a saying in the automotive business. If you don't pay now your gonna pay later... either way your gonna pay.
Don't want to change your brakes when they're worn out your going to be buying new brake components IN ADDITION TO new pads. Not to mention possibly paying with your life.
Don't want to want to change your oil that's ok you can wait 35K miles and then buy a new engine.
Same goes for everything in the car.
I'm not trying to be a dick dred but you apparantly need to take better care of your car. You could of seriously fucked yourself financially and medically.
Good luck and TAKE FUCKING CARE OF YOURSELF MAN !!!.
