I'm just trying to get a feeler about this here. How many people would be interested in a fully interactive DVD which explains to YOU, the customer, how to use, operate and tune (the correct way - the way to make safe power) on your current piggyback fuel system.

Now, as many of you know, tuning can be a very expensive business where customers can get charged upwards of $200/h for a professional tuner to work on their car. Although a price for the DVD isnt available now, if it were less than the price of one tuning session ($80-100), would anyone be interested? Remember, this is fully interactive where examples and explanations are available for every aspect of the unit, from A-Z.

Lastly, if this idea was worthy, would you all prefer a reduced rate when purchased with that piggyback from one of the supporting vendors?

It would be a nice instructional tool for people to learn and understand tuning..I however think it would be a major business risk if people actually tried tuning their own cars after watching a dvd.

No more of a business risk then those business info-mercials on TV for investin in real estate and trend trading. All it takes is a disclaimer and advice from a good lawyer. Just my opinion tho.

By interactive instructional DVD, im referring to a complete guide. Like when you buy "for dummies" book. They are in no way claming that you are going to grasp the whole idea, but it is what they are attempting to understand. The DVD would entail a full explanation of what you are tuning for and how each variable impacts the other. The whole idea behind this product is to rid the false advise giving around by others who "heard something from someone who did something once and made 34839hp" A basic example of the layout would be.

- A disclaimer - explaining risks and certain datalogging tools needed to safe performance
- A re-explanation of the instruction manual (put in laymens term so people dont assume omething other than what is it)
- A detailed explanation of how a piggyback in general works (all types)
- A detailed intruction guide (video/audio) on how to install the unit you purcchased (great selling point)
- A detailed explanation on how that specific vehicle (srt4 for now) makes maximum power with given varaibles (timing/boost, EGTS's, etc..)
-Other options as well

This by no means is designed to elimate the tuner, because personally I enjoy making $$ tuning cars, but its more of a guide to save people from unknowningly destroying their motors. There are too many srt owners blowing their shit up because they THINK they can tune and dont know their "ass from their elbow" - no offense.

This is just like AGP giving out a base tune with their SAFC for big turbo kits, only its going to be more informational and provide guidance.

Key point is no one is going to become an expert overnight, so it still leave the great tune, for the great tuners

continue discussion.

$80 is too much for a DVD though, when actual dyno runs are $100

Spec i like the idea a lot!

Its showing a multitude of things:
1. that you know what your talking about, you cant teach if you dont know it. Although the saying goes those who cant do, teach. (chill amy lol)
2. Your willing to help out fellow srt/tuners, this dvd could be done either dead on perfectly or.... bite dick.

I think with enough planning and research it would be a very good item, eventually everyone will be piggybacking lmfao well it seems that way at least.

I do like the idea and to be honest if i wasnt one who paid for it i would definately want to watch it. Or copy it lol, make sure you encode it.

HOw long are you looking to make it, add > all of us.

Im assuming you have done your fair share of research judging by your prompt reply. Id be willing to converse about it if you need some opinions or whatever. I enjoy teaching/learning and believe it or not, when im serious sometimes my opinon is useful.

Well since the DVD is interactive its going to run however long it make take that person to get move along. If you click every option, its probably gonna take an hour. It's not going to be like, "take the wires and connect it" IT's going to be ,"take this black/red(s) wire and connect it to the yellow/blue(s) wire 3 inches from the PCM". This DVD will leave no room for error.

"IF" someone manages to mess this up after watching the DVD... i might include a pill of cyanide so they can kill themself. lol.
