I was talking to a couple guys at dick greenfield and they seemed pretty cool.
I asked what i would have to do to void a warranty he laughed and said a lot!
Basically if you were to say put a cai on your car. That will only void the warranty directly relating to the intake. Ex. If your car sucks up a shit load of water and cracks the turbo or whatever they will not be replacing the turbo for you.
However.... if you burn a bearing in the turbo and it doesnt show signs of tampering or complications you will be getting a new turbo. Depending on its condition of course. It may just be rebuilt but they just ordered me a new trans so they arent cheap.
Basically this is how he explained it to me. Any self performed engine mods such as cams, pistons, cranks blah blah blah will void only the engines warranty. If you were to fuck with the stock wastgate and weld the bitch shut so it wont waste that will void the warranty all together b/c you are literally trying to break an engine by doing that. One of the guys there gave me grief about having somewhat worn tires. blah blah blah you switched them to the rear. I said what are you talking about??? My car?? (the fronts are worn much worse than the rear so hes basically talking outta his ass.)He then talks about how i cant weld my wga shut or ill fuck my warranty up. BLAH BLAH :2up: I just smiled and nodded my head.
The foreman who was at least 5 years younger than the prick busting my balls about the tires kinda laughed him off as he signed the order for my trans.
He then said something like " these lil cars werent built/ meant to be babied. They were created to be beaten. If you bought this car to baby it then you bought the wrong car. "
Although i was a lil dissapointed when he tried to convince me to buy a new clutch/pressureplate b/c he said its worth it since were gonna have the trans pulled. NOT FOR FUCKING 427.xx for a STOCK clutch modular. FUCK THAT!!
Its nice tho b/c they arent all into our cars. The foreman was knocking the clutch saying i should get it replaced with the trans... Thats the only thing im not sure of. ANd they said if i bought my own clutch and gave it to them to install they wouldnt cover it. Not like they cover the clutch after 12k miles anyway. SO i think im just gonna take the new trans my clutch doesnt slip and none of the two techs who drove my car thought i needed one. Nore does my father. SO new trans is on order ill probably drop it off either tonight or monday depending on where the tranny is. Ill call today to get an idea im not trying to have my car held up for any more time than need be. I have to pay for the rental this time..
I dunno just felt like updating on my car, the short is going to be fixed at lunch art you were right it was coming from the tailights now to find where its shorting... i love ripping the carpet up so much fun.
