im dropping my side mirrors off on monday to get the mirror housing(not entire mirror) painted stone white. i want to take it apart for the shop so he knows exactly what to paint and doesn't have to mask anything off.
How do you take the actual mirror out and separate the housing from the base is my question. i don't want to crack anything. this would make it much easier to sand it as well.
thanks, anthony

Just tell the shop you want the "mirror cover" painted. Any shop knows the difference between the base and and cover for the outside mirrors.

i know, but i wanted to be able to take out the mirror and separate it from the base. for the ease of saying "here, just paint this" no masking involved
edit: im giving up lol, i already took both mirrors off the car and sanded the housing parts. i'll tell the shop to mask it off and do it right.
thanks guys
