Ya, I know, slicks FTW, I searched. Since those aren't in my budget, I just wanna see what kinda time I can get on my Yokohama AVS ES100 street tires. Any advice for launching the car? The only mod so far is the Hotchkis springs (stock struts). Also what kind of 60' time should I be shooting for?

i launched at about 2500-3000 when i was stock and on street tires..just feather out the clutch...you will get a feel for it..DO NOT GO THRU THE WATER BOX...if anything when you go around it do i quick spin of your tires to get the rocks off..i was able to pull off a 2.1 60' on street tires...good luck!

dropping tire pressure alittle can help also. i managed to pull a 2.00 60' on bald street tires set around 26psi. all solid mounts (upper lower and trans) will help alot from wheel hop. your first 60' times should be around 2.3 2.2 eventually once you get it down good 2.1 2.00

no problem..good luck! and yes as stated by slvrsrt..get solid motor mounts..wheel hop is bad on these cars and dangerous..axles go on these cars alot of times from wheel hop..trans mount isnt 100% necessary

Thanks again, guys. Yeah, the wheel hop issue was the same way on the Contour. If it starts to hop, I'll just let off and try again next run. I will def. be getting solid motor mounts soon, though.
BTW, if I could get a 2.3 60' out of a stock SVT Contour, I'll hopefully be able to get a 2.1 or lower out of a car with way more torque and LSD...I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.
14psi in the front tires....60 psi in the rear....

I ran with 32 psi front tires, 44 rear. I was shifting into fourth, it didn't occur to me to try getting through the traps in 3rd until I was on my way home... Is it possible to get through in 3rd?
My results:
Best run:
R/T: 1.1128
60': 2.2011
330': 6.0432
1/8 ET: 9.1184
@MPH: 80.46
1/4 ET: 13.9670
@ MPH: 100.48
2nd best run:
R/T: 1.0151
60': 2.2038
330': 6.0538
1/8 ET: 9.1668
@ MPH: 79.62
1/4 ET: 14.0348
@ MPH: 100.20
I only ran 4 times, since I scared myself with some wheelhop, and all I really expected to do was run in the 13's. Mission accomplished, and the car isn't broken. Suprised the crap out of some guy in a Thunderbird.:woot:

Cool. Thanks for the advice and reassurance, guys. Now that I have a baseline, it's time to mod! I should get solid motor mounts first, hard not to get something that adds power, though.
