Smell of somethin burning under hood?

anyone ever smell something burning when they come back from a drive with their car? Last week I had fixed my upper pressure pipe cause it came off from the top and I took off the stock air box for more room, the past few days i smell like something is burnin. grr, any ideas? 10k miles 2005

Most likely oil. There are two hoses that come off the head, on the left and right. The one on the left is off the PCV. Now if you dont have a catch can, then its going to blow oil into the cold side pipe, which is normal. And on the right side of the head, there is another hose which blows excess oil into the intake. Since you took both off, chances are that you dripped oil somewhere and its burning up from the heat.

yes i did, and i have the jmb catchcan hooked up to the motor mounts, i think u guys are right, some oil was burning and now i dont smell it anymore. thanks

you only smell it after you drive and under the hood)? or do you smell it inside the car while you drive?

only outside the car, its been about a week since i took apart the air box to reset my upper pressure pipe so it must have been oil spilled on something and burned away as someone said before. thanks again

it is either the oil burning or the intaker is on something hot maybe the plastic burning
