How is the install on an alarm...?

I took my srt to zippos on rt 18 yesterday to have an alarm put in..I picked out a viper alarm"sorry dont no the model #"which had remote start,turbo timer,pretty much everything i was looking for in an alarm.It would only be 299$ installed which i think is a great price.I found out they would NOT put a remote start in a manual car which i think is B.S. But honestly im glade i didt get it because if they are able to put an alarm in they are able to take it out very easy plus they would have my adress from my dl and everything so if they wanted to take it ,it would be easy....My question is if i bought the alarm from them am i able to put the remote start on a manual car myself...and how would the install be..????

It's illegal for a shop to install remote start on a manual car.. that is why they didn't do it for you.. however it can be done.

And if your concerned about zippo's stealing your neon, you haven't seen what else comes out of their shop.

:rofl: Go back to Rt. 18 Zippos and ask for Ian Hornachek(that's my best friends girls brother). Tell him you know Jon and Jorge and that they told you to go there and told you he's a good guy and what not. See what he'll do for you. I got my alarm from them, same one you looked at. Viper 771vx/791vx? Or any 5000 series or higher I believe. They do decent work, and are *usually* priced fairly equal to other shops. If not check out Lee's Audio on Rt. 1 in Edison and ask for Hahn. They usually have a good price on that alarm installed as well. Go to both places and get prices whoever goes lower, go to them. They both do amazing work. Niether will do the remote start, but you can add it after they hook up everything else. Good luck.

I'd say check out Auto Image on Rt. 1. Only problem is I also recommend the CompuStar 2WSS-AS alarm/starter unit which they don't carry and won't install. :D
