View Full Version : big boost problem?
I have 25g on my srt-4: fuel pump, stage 2 injectors, safc2, crane# 14's, agp fmic, custom ss hot pipes, 62mm throttle body, aem 3in. cai, 3in. turbo back and etc. When I boost 14 psi+ = backfire+ engine light/limp mode code#p0108 anybody ever seen that?????

hahn offers a 16/20/25g turbos the 25 is an option for the 16/20g kits
maybe spark blow-out...check the gaps

:dunno: Can't argue there I guess
different is cool I could have bought a 50 trim agp. I like being different with some new sh^t.
you guy's at n2mb do some different stuff. I see some of your times (etc) online.
have you ever seen this problem?

The limp mode I have read about on srtforums.com. Do a search there and you will find out why. What are your plugs gapped at? p0108 is map sensor high.
the limp mode only happens after the backfire. the map sensor voltage is modified by the safc but, it still is topping 4.9v. i have even installed a map clamp. that didn't help and i have pretty well worked down to the injectors as the problem i just thought there might be someone else that has ran into the problem. that would be great if they could tell me before i drop more money!!!
plus are one range cooler gapped at 35

Did you buy this car with the code already on it? It sounds like you or the person before you over boosted the car and the ecu is going into limp mode.
Or your map sensor is fucked up. I would throw a 3bar map and tip sensor in your car(If you know someone well enough to let you borrow them) and see what happens.
Or drive to N2mb and have Jay look at it.
i thought of that- the stage2 ecm is calibrated differently for the 3 bar sensors. I have a connections at the local dodge dealer- and the sensors do not work properly with my stage one ecm. I'm the only owner of the car and the stage2 ecm doesn't solve the problem. i'm in the +'s on the safc. I was told today by a tech that works for safc inc. that you can not be above 0 or this will happen! so I will order injectors! but it would be cool if some said yes that happened to me and it was ?????? you know lol!!!

OH you were trying to add fuel with the safc or as you put it (+'s) If that is the case, that would explain it.
I was boosting with a 16g before this and with my same set up I was in the
-'s at 22psi. and everything I have checked is leading back to the injectors.
fuel pressure, wiring, watching data with a modis while driving!! now at 8psi i'm at +8
yes I was trying to add fuel!!!
and what he told me today confirmed my thought onthe injector need to be much bigger for me to keep them under the 80% duty cycle/injector pulse
the 680cc stage2's 58psi rc 750cc 43.5psi

That is deff it. You can't add fuel with a safc. Well you found the problem. Good luck.
but, you know it always helps when you are dropping your cash in the thousands to hear (yes, that happened to me and I solved it by ???
that doesn't seem to happen for me but it's cool
If that is the cure then why the hell do they allow you 50% increase, that sucks!!!
It should stop at zero I would have figured it out in 5- well maybe 10 minutes.

do you have a return line?
no return line I was told it wouldn't be needed if I stayed under 24 psi with big injectors. I have one guy that comes to my job (auto shop) that has a 60 trim no return and has boosted 24psi on race- no problem.

No problem till he fries a piston. You need constent fuel pressure when you have a high horsepower car. The last injectors on the rail get starved of fuel without a fuel return line back into the tank. The return allows the fuel to evenly go THROUGH the rail offering all the injectors the same amount of fuel. Also, a return system uses a 1to1 fuel pressure regulator, per every psi of boost you'll get a psi of fuel pressure.
true, thanks for the advise if this cures my problem the return will be next- man there is so much sh^t to know about these little turds it's hard to get ahead! lol later!!!
If that is the cure then why the hell do they allow you 50% increase, that sucks!!!
Because the safc isn't a srt specific part. It's universal and on some cars you can actually use it to add fuel.
