I am planning on going to the pinks all out event at maple grove drag strip on may 12th.
I was wondering if anyone else is planning on going and we could possibly meet up there.

I'll probably be there Friday and Saturday. :woohoo:
pinks is going to be in PA. i'll be willing to go see that.

40 mins...I think not. Takes me 2 hours of 80mph from my door to Ripp's door. So figure around the same to Maple Grove.

YOU SUCK AT LIFE!!! I'll be there Friday night possibly but definitely Saturday. I only live 20 mins away and its only $5 extra for Friday night if you pay for both days. :thumb: Anyone coming down post up maybe we can get a lil meet together for Friday night.

Not to knock him but I wouldn't have bothered. By the looks of the previous 2 shows they want mid 10sec cars and lower. Altho it would be nice to see them pick some mid 11 second cars and use them for the show since that's more achievable for probably 85% of the viewing public.

from what I understand they plan on picking cars from different time brackets for different events. some with low 10 sec cars some 9 sec cars and some 11 sec cars. I think they are trying to mix it up to apeal to the majority of viewers wile keep it entertaining and close racing.
Yeah thats what I heard as well but what I was saying by the looks of the last 2 shows they have been leaning toward the mid 10's and lower. I would love it if they used some 11 second car but from searching around other forums it seems that there is alot of Outlaw class guys registered. So it might make their decision to use 11 second cars hard if only a few made it into registration.

well if thats the case then its not likely to see 11 sec cars at your areas event. All I was saying is that they are trying to mix it up with cars at different levels for different events.
I would love to see an event with mid to low 11 sec. cars going at it in the "final 16". this enlargens the possibility of seeing more sport compacts and imports vs. domestics in fair racing conditions that are equaly matched.

What time does it start Friday? i should be able to make it Friday but not Saturday... damm work
Friday night racing is from 5-10pm. Gates open earlier for tech and whatnot. Saturday racing is from 11am-10pm. Again gates open earlier and whatnot blah blah blah. Oh yeah it's $25 for Friday & Saturday and $20 for just Saturday. :thumb:

i never get bored seeing those in person, i have to hold my ears sometimes, top fuel funny cars/dragsters as well... depends on my mood, have you ever seen them in person before?
Never saw jet cars before but I have seen topfuel before. The jet cars weren't that bad till they passed you...then thats when my ears rang and my heart felt like it exploded!!!:yay:

I didn't hear the phone ring, so I didn't know you called until it was too late. I moved a little closer to the starting line, but was still near the fence. I caught one of those t-shirts they were throwing out, and also had it signed. It was a size small, so I'll probably just give it away to a relative.

The starting line was in good shape..however past 60 feet wasnt very pro stock friendly...car got outta shape after 330 feet..which is hard to tell from the stands because you arent behind the car. Then the next time up we had a new set of tires to skuff in...two big burnouts usually gets er done...had no plans of making a run that time out...did you catch those?

man what a weekend, my friend was racing if you were there i'm sure you saw him. i was kinda co-crew chief, i was directing him up in the waterbox and gave small pointers which as and end result got him his new best e.t.'s, friday sucked ass, his boost wasn't coming on right and he only went 12.0 &12.1 at 115 and 113, then around 6p.m. we found out we were only getting 2 runs so we packed up and went to cecil, got in 4 very awesome runs in an hour, with no 12's. ended friday with 2 new bests, 11.63 & 11.60. so saturday we got there and first run went better yet with a 11.58 @ 123(2-3 weeks ago went 126.5), then on the 2nd run i convinced him to drop to 10 psi in the slicks(cold) from 12(cold) because he's still blowin the tires off at the hit, so after a not to smokey burnout (needs more practice) he got up on the line and snapped the drivers side axle, after pushing it back to the pit(were hardcore we don't need no towtruck,haha) his girls mom went up to the tower and was tryin to find out if we got it fixed if we could try again(she said there was a whole lot of yelling and screaming where the pinks guys were, fighting about the bracket they wanted to pick) and at first the track people were sayin no, then someone on the pinks crew was told the situation and they told us to get it done before qualifing was over and we did it and ran again but we don't know what the time was, they did announce over the intercom after it was over that they went with a mid 9 sec class but were very strongly considering a much slower class, so who knows
for anyone who left when it started to rain you missed some good stuff, over on the road parrallel to the track opposite pit side we were gettin pissy watchin every other car doin a burnout, there was the drunk hillbilly guy standin in the middle of the road with no shirt tight jeans and big ol cowboy boots yellin at the people in the cars callin em pussies and bitches and prolly other stuff, then this cop came by talked to the guy for half a minute and left, i think the guy was even tryin to get the cop to do a burnout.
they got our hopes up around 8:30 sayin the rain was over and they were dryin the track off then right when they finished dryin it started drizzling again so all 16 were up at the line talking for a while then they cancelled it and said they were running sunday at 10a.m.(free if you still had your ticket), i don't know what happened because i was sleeping till noon

I talked to the kid in the yellow srt that was running there. Didn't catch his name but seemed like a cool guy. I remember seeing that car at Cecil last summer but haven't been back to the track since. Is he on any of the boards? I said we should meet up at Cecil when/if I ever get my car straightened out and take a few shots at eachother. It'll be some close races.

nah he pretty much just uses these sites for info(very little), but were down there all the time(saturday preferred) and there's not to much srt competition there, always lots of 13 sec srts but not many doin 11's. send me a message and we'll all meet up down there sometime. where & when did you talk to him? cause i was next to him pretty much all day

Not sure what time it was but it was towards the end of the day when he was starting to take the axle back out of his car to give to the guy with the blue one that loaned it to him. Only spoke to him for a few minutes as he was getting ready to tear into his car. Do you know who made his cage for him?

i saw the small group of srts parked together with the axles layin on the floor :( if u guys were standin around i was probably the only one with a red srt there. i was hangin out toward the end of the track all day with my dads friend in the motor home. was also rollin around in a golf cart all day lol

Yeah that was where the kid with the Yellow srt that was running in the event was parked and working on his car.

he made the cage, awhile ago, for show, not up to spec yet. hasn't went 11.49 or faster yet so it hasn't been checked
