ive been thinking a while on what i want to do with my fogs. i dont wanna go hids because im cheap and i want something bright. would there be a possibility to cut off the stock harness and splice in a harness for a bulb that would be the brights of another car? would that just splice in like that and work or would i blow something up

I've forgot all my circuits stuff.
But I would watch the voltage across the gauge of wire you plan on using (and/or stock wiring).
The higher voltage bulbs could be hotter and melt the housing they sit in.

Just some comments.

Not worth the time. Modern Performance offers a PIAA fog light replacement that are pretty bright. A bit pricey but comes complete.

if you simply "splice in" another harness for a brighter bulb, you run the risk of melting some of the stock wiring (and possibly causing a fire), if the new bulb requires more power.

dont do it. just save the cash and do it right. you'll end up screwing yourself in the end.

They shouldn't. Unless your whole harness melts, then it will.
