its fine, just be careful around fast turns.

I ran 225/45/17 DR's on the wheel and it was fine for regular driving, but if you plan on taking the twisties... be careful

215's are fine, 225's are pushing it

It's borderline bro. 215 on a 6" wheel is a worse idea than my 205's on 8"ers :D

I wouldn't do it. not in a 45 series tire anyway. I know a few that have done 215/50 like Frodo for example but it's just not safe. It's like having sex w/ a condom with a rip on it. Wanna chance it? Go for it.

This is what would increase or decrease:

Section width: wider by 10mm or a total of 8.46 in
Rim width range: is technically 7-8 in
Overall diameter: drops from 25.07 in to 24.61 in
Sidewall height: drops from 4.03 in to 3.80 in
Radius: drops from 12.53 in to 12.30 in
Circumference: drops from 78.75 in to 77.31 in
As a result your revs/mile: increases from 829.6 to 845.1

Speedometer difference: 1.868% too fast
-or-
at 60 mph speedo will read 61.1 mph

IMO, if they are free tires, you can deal with above specs, and they don't experience heavy lateral loads from autoxing or track use....I would say you would be fine.

i have 215/50 and i rip turns and never had a problem, i dont know if i would do it with a 45 series though, not to mention you will have even more wheel gap lol

i know, but i figured they were free and they're pretty good all seasons, bridgestone potenzas, not too worn, plus it's only for the winter, so i figured what the heck

well according to my calculator, basically, when you implement the flux capacitor and bridge the gap of the continuoum transfunctioner along with hyperbolic anti gravity reflector.......the tires should be okay.....

Means you will put more mileage on your car then in actuality (more revs per mile), your speedo will be offset, your sidewall clearance will be smaller allowing less flex over bumps so ride quality will decrease...

enough said... if their for the winter... dont do it... i have them on my RX-8... and the second i get a quarter inch of snow that car is parked... they cant handle wet that well either... accel and braking are alright, and dry turning they`re AWESOME... but anything involving wet and they become unsafe... trust me with 16,000 miles on my mazda all on the potenzas... keep that into consideration

it all depends on which model potenzas. sauce said they were all seasons.
i'm willing to wager what your mazda has and these free tires are two different models.
