:sad_pace: *sigh*

Yup, it was hard to watch. What the hell was Crosby doing out there? He was playing center field, was he not? WTF was he doing WAY over in right? It looked like Sheff woulda had that ball. Cost us 2 runs. Didn't help that the umps screwed us too. Goddamn A-Rod too. 0-fer-a- million. This team made me nuts all year and I'm kinda surprised they made the playoffs at all. Oh well, I'm sure the Boss will try to trade for Bonds or somebody to get us there next year...

God, what to do for the next 4-5 months? Watch football? *YAWWWN*

we'll get em next year boys.. you are right, i cant believe they actually were close to coming back with all the errors and bullshit moves they made.. that collision in the outfield was prolly the most pathetic thing in yankees history

just wish we could have gone all the way for Bernie and Tino who are retiring.. 2 of the best yankees there ever were..:(

he was out there for defensive purpose cause bernie is past retirement.the biggest disappointment was a-rod doing nothing this series.if bonds comes here next year i swear i will never watch another game!
i think the 2 biggest mistakes were torre should have never left mussina in with everyone available to pitch, second why was arod not sitting fastball .
during the season they made tons of mistakes and were lucky to get as far as they did.im a true yankee fan and have been my entire life but this watching this year was freakin painful.the lineup was too loaded up with big contracts and no room for changes so we had to finish with what we started with.the lineup was great,on paper and on the field but it only goes to show that in the end no matter how many hits and runs you score you are only as good as your starting pitchers! if it wasnt for small and chacon we would have probably finished 7 games back like the mets:(

we dont need bonds. i dont want bonds LOL i want an all star pitching staff that wont get injured....and a staff that the average age is not over 40

they're not gonna see WS action until they rebuild their farm system. They have NO ONE in their minor leagues.

If they did win I cant believe they were actually still going to start Jaret Wright. I expected a lot more from A-rod. Playoffs are not the time to start a slump. I've been watching baseball every night....now I have no excuse why I can't spend more time with my girlfriend.

Too many big contracts?! We had the God Damn all star team for the AL! I agree they shoulda left moose in..they werent hitting him.. they were getting 5 foot hits we were just making errors and the ball was bouncing their way. BUT the unit did come in and shut them down..

I love Derek Jeter.. comes out and blasts the homerun to start off the inning, hes a TRUE yankee, funny how no one can follow up..

Welp, Stottlemyre is gone (no surprise there), looks like Cashman will probably go elsewhere, Girardi is likely going to Fla., could Torre be next? I hope not. I hear a lot of fans (on WFAN, Yankee message boards, etc) calling for his head. I don't get it. Look at what he had to overcome this year. Look at how he handled all the criticism from the Boss and the media. After the slow start and all the injuries I was surprised they made it to the playoffs at all. He did a great job and doesn't deserve all the BS he takes from Steinbrenner or some of the fans.

10-13-05, 09:19 AM
it's just BS how some fans are calling out for Torre's head. it's not his fault that his players can't pitch consistently nor hit in clutch situations. he doesnt have control whether they get injured or not as well. you can have the best skipper but if he's driving the shittiest boat in town, it's not going anwhere. it's so easy to forget how this guy brought in all those division/conference/world championships plus he is one the most decorated yankee managers.

steinbrenner should just work on having horses that actually win rather than minding his manager's business.
